Raw Recipe: German Chocolate Brownies

Do you remember Jamila Crawford of Earthcandy? She was featured in our Dope Chicks Living Holistically series and she has opened up her kitchen to once again share some of her Raw recipes. Jamilia is based in Atlanta and offers her chef skills to celebrities  and anyone who requests her service. Upon first thought we did not think it was possibly to eat sweets and eat like a raw foodist but Jamila has proof that you can. So here is one of her recipes for Raw Vegan German Chocolate Recipe .

 

**GERMAN CHOCOLATE BROWNIES**
{{Yields 8-10 pieces}}
2/3 c pecan meal
2/3 c almond flour
2/3 c coconut flour
1/2 c agave nectar
1/3 c raw almond milk (or water)
Pinch of sea salt
2 tablespoons almond butter
1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
1/4 c cacao pwd

Process until blended. Transfer to a bowl and divide into 8 pieces, creating 2″x 2″ squares about 1″ thick. Line a baking tray with wax or parchment paper and set in refrigerator for an hour to firm.

***FROSTING***

1 ripe banana
4 dates
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon coconut butter
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/3 c coconut milk
1/4 c raw agave nectar
1/2 c shredded coconut (unsweetened)
1/2 c chopped pecans

In food processor, add all ingredients (except shredded coconut and pecan) and blend well. Transfer to a bowl and fold in coconut and pecans.

Spread as much icing on top of your brownie as you’d like and ENJOY!
